Wendy’s 404 BurgerTime

we created a game for the wendy’s 404 page as an easter egg

THE IMPACT

THE 404 game has received ongoing recognition, reflecting positively on the wendy’s brand.

Instead of resorting to a generic 404 design and copy, the international fast-food chain’s 404 page shows their brand’s personality to the fullest. The copy is full of food puns, reminding the user subtly that Wendy’s burgers are fresh. The site gives you three options – to view Wendy’s menu, find jobs, or stay and play a cute and simple Wendy’s-themed platformer game that, I’ll admit, made me want some nuggets and fries.

THE WORK

INSPIRED BY THE 1982 ARCADE BURGERTIME, WE CREATED A WENDY’S BURGERTIME.

We added a Wendy’s BurgerTime to the 404 page as a pleasant surprise to users in a low point of the website experience.

my contribution

i advocated to put this game on the 404 page.

A developer started working on the Wendy’s BurgerTime as a passion project, and I saw it as an opportunity to enhance the 404 page.
